Industrial plants in Saudi Arabia put pumps and valves through some of the hardest duty anywhere: sour crude and gas carrying hydrogen sulfide, seawater injection systems that keep reservoirs pressurised, the petrochemical complexes of Jubail and Yanbu, large desalination plants, and phosphate and mineral processing where pumps move abrasive slurry.
At Ultraweld Coat, we provide Pump & Valve Coating Services in Saudi Arabia that extend equipment life and reduce replacement costs. Using HVOF and thermal spray technology at our works in Pune, India, we coat new and refurbished pump and valve components for customers across the Kingdom.
Metal seated ball and gate valves are chosen where soft seats would not survive: high pressure, high temperature, or sand in the flow. Their sealing depends on two hard surfaces staying smooth, so the ball or gate and the seats are coated with tungsten carbide or chromium carbide and lapped together.
In sour service the coating has to be selected together with the base material, because hydrogen sulfide, chlorides and temperature act on both. We coat to the specification you supply and can discuss the material options for your operating conditions.
Injection pumps run continuously at high pressure, and the fine solids left in treated seawater wear the close-running parts first. In mineral processing the solids load is far higher and the whole wetted path erodes. In both cases a dense tungsten carbide coating on the wearing surfaces lengthens the interval between overhauls.

On multistage injection pumps, clearance at the wear rings sets efficiency. Carbide-coated rings resist both particle erosion and rubbing contact, and help prevent galling between stainless parts.

Balls, gates and seats for metal seated valves in sour gas, crude and high-temperature process lines, coated and lapped as matched sets.

Sleeves that protect the pump shaft at the seal or packing area, hard-coated so fine solids cannot cut grooves that lead to leakage.

Impellers and casings for slurry and process pumps in mining, fertiliser and petrochemical plants, protected against abrasive and erosive particles.

Plungers for high-pressure reciprocating pumps, coated with carbide or nickel-based fused alloys where impact and fatigue loading are high.

Progressive cavity pump rotors for sludge and viscous, solids-bearing fluids, tungsten carbide coated and polished.
HVOF tungsten carbide and chromium carbide are widely used on the balls and seats of metal seated valves, including in sour service. Suitability depends on the coating grade, the base material and the specification governing your project, so share that specification with your enquiry.
Chromium carbide nickel chrome is normally preferred when the valve runs hot, because it keeps its hardness and oxidation resistance at temperatures where tungsten carbide grades are no longer suitable.
Yes. Worn sleeves, rings, plungers and shafts can often be restored to size by coating and grinding instead of being replaced.
