Metal Seated Valve

Metal Seated Valve

Metal Seated Valve

As a leading Metal Seated Valve Manufacturer in Pune, Ultraweld Coat is offering advanced technique valves which are suited to your industrial valve needs. A metal-seated valve is a type of industrial valve designed to handle severe operating conditions where high pressure, high temperature, and abrasive materials are present. Unlike traditional soft-seated valves that use a resilient material like rubber or elastomer for sealing, metal-seated valves utilize metal-to-metal contact for their sealing surfaces. As a top Metal Seated Ball Valves manufacturer in Pune, our design choice offers several distinct advantages, particularly in challenging environments. We are top Metal Seated Valve Suppliers in Pune, where you get perfect solutions for your industrial metal seated valves needs.

Applications

Metal-seated valves are highly suited for demanding industrial applications:

  • Chemical Processing: For handling corrosive chemicals at varying temperatures and pressures.
  • Oil & Gas: In upstream and downstream operations where high pressure and temperature conditions are prevalent.
  • Power Generation: For controlling steam and other high-temperature fluids.
  • Mining and Minerals: To manage abrasive slurries and harsh environmental conditions.

Types of Metal Seated Valves

Gate Valves

Used for isolation purposes. As a leading Metal Seated flanged ball valves manufacturer in Pune, our metal seat provides a reliable seal when the valve is fully closed.

Ball Valves

Ball valves with metal seats are used in applications requiring high durability and resistance to high pressures and temperatures.

DBB Valves

A Double Block and Bleed (DBB) valve is a type of valve system used primarily in industrial applications to ensure safety and integrity in pipeline systems.

Butterfly Valves

Metal-seated butterfly valves have a disc with metal seating surfaces that offer resistance to high temperatures and pressures while providing efficient flow control.

A soft seat is the economical choice for clean fluids at moderate temperature. Once the fluid carries solids, runs hot, or the valve cycles often under high pressure drop, a metal seat is what survives.

Hard coatings on the sealing surfaces

The life of a metal seated valve depends on its sealing faces. Ultraweld Coat applies these surfaces in-house:

How a metal-to-metal seal is made tight

Two hard surfaces only seal if they match. After coating, the ball or gate and its seats are ground and then lapped against each other, so each valve leaves with its own matched set. Shut-off tightness is specified as a leakage class; API 598, ISO 5208 and FCI 70-2 are the standards usually quoted. Tell us the class your application needs.

What to include in an enquiry

  • Valve type, size and pressure class
  • Fluid, including solids content and any corrosive components
  • Operating and design temperature and pressure
  • Required leakage class and end connections
  • Actuation: manual, gear, pneumatic or electric

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose a metal seated valve?

Choose a metal seated valve when the fluid is abrasive or erosive, when the temperature is beyond what a polymer seat tolerates, or when the valve has to keep sealing after many cycles in severe service, such as slurries, steam, or sandy and sour oil and gas streams.

Can a metal seated valve shut off tightly?

Yes. A metal seated valve can shut off tightly when its hard-coated sealing faces are ground and lapped as a matched pair. Shut-off is specified as a leakage class under standards such as API 598, ISO 5208 or FCI 70-2, and the class is agreed at the enquiry stage.

Can worn seats and balls be refurbished?

Often, yes. Worn balls, gates and seats of a metal seated valve are stripped of their old coating, re-coated, and then ground and lapped again as a set. Refurbishment restores the seal at much lower cost than new trim, provided the base metal is undamaged.
